About Dr. Evelyn Lee, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PSY 23300

Dr. Evelyn (“Evie”) Lee has worked closely with women and women’s issues for the more than 25 years.

Prior to obtaining her doctorate in Psychology, Evie created and ran a successful makeup business in the San Fernando Valley. With her easy personal rapport and strong empathy for women, the business attracted a large, loyal group of clients who came to have their makeup done expertly by Evie and her team – as well as for a little “talk therapy!”

With a growing desire to help women at a deeper level, and encouraged by clients, friends and family, Dr. Lee went on to develop a second career in Psychology. After completely her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at California State University at Northridge (CSUN), she went on to earn a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Psychology at Ryokan College in Los Angeles, California. She chose Ryokan for its emphasis on Psychotherapy and face-to-face clinical treatment. Not surprisingly, given her interest in women, Feminist Psychology featured prominently in Dr. Lee’s doctoral dissertation.

As a therapist, Dr. Lee’s specializes in women and girls in transition, including menopause, adolescence, and identity and image issues. She treats eating disorders, depression, addictions and bipolar disorder. Dr. Lee has worked with teens and adults. She has also worked in forensic psychology and a wide range of testing.

Dr. Lee is also a Life Coach, providing counseling and life skills training to help clients develop and achieve their dreams.

In working with adolescents, Dr. Lee noticed that many women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s could benefit from additional support to face the formidable challenges of the mid-life stage. To meet this need, she formed a women’s support group to address issues including menopause, hormonal changes, adolescent children, the empty nest syndrome, and changes in personal identity.

Dr. Lee is a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, International Coach Federation and Toastmasters International.
